Evaluate The Response (D1)

Learning Objective: Be able to pitch ideas of a proposed media product and respond to questions

Response to the client's feedback:

Narrow down the genre target market; too many genres are being targeted.
I will be acting on this feedback to develop my production further.
I will be removing drill from the genre of my magazine as it will conflict with grime in many ways and fans of either genres may not buy the magazine as they dislike the other genre and it could interfere with our possible sales numbers and it will also restrict what we can do when digging deeper into either genre. Ultimately, the magazine will only focus on the Grime genre - this is a positive as it is a very popular genre within North London.

Does the font fit the drill genre?
The client liked the title font so we will be using it in the final magazine when released to the public. The font that I will be using it because it looks at how the grime genre has hidden gems so using a crystal style font fits it to show that there is a more glamours style to the genre and it isn't just the violent genre that is portrayed in media.

Change the subheading font.

The client did not like the subheading font so we will be likely to follow their advice and change it to something that fits the grime genre more as the subheading font we perceived as sporty and did not fit the grime genre. I will be acting on this feedback and have decided to change the font to 'Sammies_sansserif' because it provides a more street feel and it is much less sporty than the original font chosen. Plus it is linked to grime as it is bold and simple. Also many other rap magazines use a bold font so I received some ideas from them.

Change the colour scheme.

The client liked the colour scheme but we will probably change it to something more appealing than the original yellow and black theme. This change may be to a red or gold instead of yellow as yellow may not be liked by our target audience. To develop this idea further, we have decided to stick with the colours red and black as they link with the genre of Grime and will appeal to the target audience.

A final point to make is that the client liked the digital mock up that was made for the magazine and it is very likely that the same style for the images and text will be used in the final draft of the magazine.
