Plan and Develop Pre-Production Materials (U3: P3, M2)
Risk Assessment:
Location Recce:
I will be shooting at this residential house in north London, Southgate, N14 5HJ. It is accessible by public transport of both busses and trains as Southgate station is a 5 minute walk away.
Draft Layout sketches:
I had this idea for layouts because they show off the simplicity of the magazine and also it shows connotations towards the genre. This is through the simple images and minimal text on the double page spread.
My Colour Scheme:
I am using red and black for the background and selected subheadings and text.
I am using the white and grey colours for subheadings and text.
Chosen Font:
The basic font for the magazine and cover-lines will a square block font that will show the more bold side to the genre plus with similar genres they used a block font and this tells me that for my genre it would be wise to go with a block font as well.

Moodboard:
These images influence our final idea as they come from the same grime genre and using them in this moodboard will give us an idea of colours they wear and hoe they always have a straight face and therefore this will influence the final product and how our artist will look.
Gantt Chart:

This is a gantt chart made on monday.com, it has been screenshotted twice because the software allows users to scroll left and right and create and extended timeline.
Below is a screenshot of my homepage on monday.com where i have created a number of pre-production documents. This is a good example of a technological convergence.

Release Forms:
Location Release Form:
We went with this location as it is where the artist is from and taking it in an area where he grew up adds more meaning and value to our shots.
Talent consent form:
Legal and Ethical Issues:
Copyright: Copyright can effect the speed of production. This is because producers and creators will have copyright claims on people that use their product so we will need to ask for permission from these creators and get legal access to the product.
Trespassing: If we want to take our pictures on private land or private property then we will need to get permission from the owner to take legal pictures there. If we do not get the legal permission then we could face legal action and loss of any reputation.
Data Protection: This will have an effect on all aspects of my magazine include pre and post production. To follow the data protection law we will need to keep all information safe and secure and make sure that peoples information and data is not leaked or stolen.
Discrimination: To avoid any legal issues with discrimination we will be open to hiring all staff and feature all ethnicity's of artists.
Racism: When making this magazine we would wish to avoid any racism of any kind. This is a must due to our main target audience being young black males and having anything that will offend them or is racist towards them will have large negative impacts on the success of our magazine.
Sexism: We also will look to avoid any sexism in our magazine especially when looking at how sexism has an impact in the current times. Therefore avoiding it will help our sales and allow us to have a wider potential audience.
Safety: In the pre-production stages of our magazine we will look to keep all of our employees safe and try our best to avoid any risks of them being hurt in production. This is important to do as it will put out a better image of our magazine and could potentially attract more customers.
