Plan and Develop Pre-Production Materials (U3: P3, M2)

Risk Assessment: Location Recce: I will be shooting at this residential house in north London, Southgate, N14 5HJ. It is accessible by public transport of both busses and trains as Southgate station is a 5 minute walk away. Draft Layout sketches: I had this idea for layouts because they show off the simplicity of the magazine and also it shows connotations towards the genre. This is through the simple images and minimal text on the double page spread. My Colour Scheme: I am using red and black for the background and selected subheadings and text. I am using the white and grey colours for subheadings and text. Chosen Font: The basic font for the magazine and  cover-lines  will a square block font that will show the more bold side to the genre plus with similar genres they used a block font and this tells me that for my genre it would be wise to go with a block font as well.  Moodboard: These images influen...

Evaluate The Response (D1)

Learning Objective: Be able to pitch ideas of a proposed media product and respond to questions Response to the client's feedback: Narrow down the genre target market; too many genres are being targeted. I will be acting on this feedback to develop my production further. I will be removing drill from the genre of my magazine as it will conflict with grime in many ways and fans of either genres may not buy the magazine as they dislike the other genre and it could interfere with our possible sales numbers and it will also restrict what we can do when digging deeper into either genre. The client liked the title font so we will be using it in the final magazine when released to the public. The font that I will be using it  because it looks at how the grime genre has hidden gems so using a crystal style font ...

Pitch Your Ideas (U21: P4, M3)

Learning Objective:  Be able to pitch ideas on a proposed media product and respond to questions Pass Task Merit Task Narrow down the genre target market; too many genres are being targeted. I will most likely take out the Drill genre from my target audience and from the content of my magazine as it doesn't blend well with Grime and rap as well and it could scare off some of the rap listeners if they don't like Drill or want to associate with Drill and its style. This will then allow me to be more involved in the grime genre that grime fans will enjoy more than trying to merge them with drill fans. Does the font fit the drill genre? The font does not fit the genre but the font itself was liked so I am more likely to keep the font and drop the Drill genre from my magazine. This would allow me to be more flexible with the grime genre instead of trying to meet the needs of grime and drill fans. The client felt that the font was very fitting for the grime genre so ...
